My Approach to Therapy for Feeling Stuck

Feeling stuck can be frustrating, confusing, and exhausting. You may know something needs to change—but not what, or how. My approach to therapy gently guides you through that fog, helping you reconnect with yourself, your direction, and your strength to move forward.

Step 1: Understand What’s Beneath the Stuckness

I begin by creating a safe space where we explore what’s really keeping you stuck—not just on the surface, but deeper:

  • Unprocessed emotions like fear, grief, shame, or resentment

  • Internal conflict (a part of you wants change, another part resists)

  • Negative core beliefs formed from past experiences

  • Burnout, overwhelm, or emotional paralysis

  • Protective patterns that once kept you safe but now hold you back

Stuckness is often your mind’s way of protecting you. We honour it—and gently work through it.

Step 2: Build Awareness + Emotional Flexibility

Once we begin to understand the roots, we work on building tools and insight to regain a sense of clarity and movement:

  • Mindfulness: Learning to pause, observe, and connect to your inner world in the subconscious mind

  • Parts work: Giving voice to the conflicted or frozen parts within you

  • CBT therapy: Identifying and reframing unhelpful beliefs or thought patterns

  • Somatic awareness: Tuning into what your body is trying to communicate

 

Step 3: Move from Insight to Empowered Action

The goal isn't just to understand your stuckness—it's to gently shift it:

  • Reconnect with your values and authentic desires

  • Set meaningful, manageable goals that create forward movement

  • Practice self-compassion rather than self-judgment

  • Rebuild trust in your inner voice and decision-making ability

Before having therapy with SC, I felt like I didn't understand myself, my thoughts and those around me. I didn't understand why such things were happening to me. I was a bit skeptical when hearing about the Happiness Coaching sessions with Lady SC to help with my anxiety issue.
